Veterans Music Fest: Music & Gratitude @ the Jersey Shore

Veterans Music Fest 2025

This year’s Veterans Music Fest once again brought music, camaraderie, and gratitude to the Jersey Shore. Held at D’Jais on a beautiful November afternoon just before Veterans Day, the event was a celebration of service, music, and community.

The Veterans Foundation of America, the Jersey Shore Jazz & Blues Foundation (JSJBF), and Band Together for Veterans once again teamed up to produce this annual fundraiser, which supports a range of programs benefiting veterans. Longtime sponsors — Pause to ThriveBraven Health, and the NJ Veterans Chamber of Commerce — proudly joined in to make the event possible.

Led by JSJBF member and veteran John Fernandez, the organizing team once again delivered a stellar day of live music. Seven bands, each featuring veteran musicians, generously volunteered their time and talent to the cause.

The afternoon opened with a moving rendition of the National Anthem performed by Meaghan Solomon, followed by the first guest MC, Robin Lane of Thunder 106. She introduced Navy veteran and bandleader Jo Wymer, who kicked things off with an energetic set that set the tone for the day.

Longtime bluesman Gary Wright and his all-veteran band, featuring Jo Wymer, then kept the crowd rocking with a rousing collection of Rolling Stones classics. Next up, Peter V & Blues Train proved why they remain one of the Shore’s top blues acts, showcasing both powerhouse musicianship and standout original tunes.

Our second guest MC, Danny Coleman of Rock On Radio, introduced Jump Back, who treated the audience to songs from their latest release, Misunderstood — tunes that sounded even better live than on the record.

Before the next set, a special presentation took place: JSJBF President and veteran Tom Baldino and Tim Kerner of the Veterans Chamber of Commerce honored D’Jais owner Frank Sementa for hosting the festival for the past four years, recognizing his continued support of veterans and live music.

Although Chuck Lambert was unable to perform due to a personal matter, the crowd was thrilled when Sonny Kenn stepped in at the last minute, delivering a blistering set backed by a group of veteran musicians, including John Fernandez. The Incinerators followed, matching that energy with a powerhouse performance that reaffirmed their reputation as one of the Shore’s premier live blues bands.

Closing out the evening, The Bennett/Daniels Project, featuring U.S. Coast Guard veteran Scott Twomey, brought the festival to a powerful and soulful finish — the perfect end to a day filled with music, fellowship, and heartfelt appreciation for those who serve.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make Veterans Music Fest 2025 an unforgettable celebration of music, community, and veterans’ causes.
