Committees

All JSJBF members are invited to participate in one or more of the committees listed below.

Education & Community Outreach Christine Zemla Led by a team of educators & musicians, we offer a variety of programs designed to trace the historical, cultural, and musical threads of American “roots” music, through film, multimedia presentations, performance and more. As part of our philanthropic outreach, we aim to partner with individuals and like-minded organizations in order to serve the greater Monmouth-Ocean County community. 
Events/FestivalsTom Baldino The Events/Festivals Committee oversees new program development and monitors and assesses existing programs. The committee also facilitates discussions about event priorities for the JSJBF. The committee works with the PR/Mktg and Volunteer Committees to assure that events are successfully promoted and that volunteers are available as needed.
FinanceEmil Kattermann The Finance Committee coordinates the Board’s financial oversight responsibilities. The Committee shall be responsible for the planning, development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of JSJBF’s policies and programs for funding, financial management, assets, risks, and insurance.
Fundraising/GrantsTom Baldino The Fundraising Committee seeks out opportunities for gaining corporate sponsors, philanthropists, large donors, grants, and endowments, as well as other ways of generating funds for the JSJBF. The Committee’s main goal is to help raise money for the organization.

IBC Mike FenielloAs an affiliate of The Blues Foundation, the JSJBF chooses representatives to participate in the Memphis IBC (International Blues Competition) through its own locally hosted competition. Each year, the JSJBF holds this event in the Fall. Member bands and or solo acts in good standing can participate in the competition if they meet the criteria. 

Listening Tom Baldino The Listening Committee meets regularly throughout the year to listen to incoming CDs and look through press kits. This committee chooses the performers for all major JSJBF events.

Membership Gary Neuwirth The Membership Committee keeps track of membership fees and looks for ways to attract new members. Committee members also create strategies to keep their current members active and involved to preserve their memberships.

Public Relations/Marketing John Dammacco, Wayne KesslerThe Public Relations/Marketing Committee develops and executes promotional and marketing strategies to stimulate awareness and visibility of the organization.

Scholarship Christine Zemla, Joseph Riggio Each year, the Scholarship Committee arranges funding and selects the recipients of the JSJBF student scholarships. Four scholarships are awarded for budding music students (many who are heading to Berklee College of Music). 

Technology Allen de la CruzThe Technology Committee is responsible for developing and supporting the website, social media, videos, email marketing, and other technologies used to help the foundation.

Volunteer Damian CremisioThe Volunteer Committee meets regularly throughout the year to encourage the active participation of volunteers in the Foundation’s events. Committee also establishes plans to encourage non-members to volunteer for events as well.
