About Emmanuel Ohemeng III & Perpetual Motion
Emmanuel Ohemeng III & Perpetual Motion breaks new ground by seamlessly fusing traditional jazz instrumentation with fresh, modern influences such as Trap, R&B, and Rock. This dynamic blend of tonal textures and rhythmic patterns carries audiences on an unforgettable musical journey.
Founded in 2013, the band features a pianist, bassist, drummer, trumpeter, saxophonist, and trombonist. Hailing from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the group has earned widespread acclaim as one of the region’s premier jazz ensembles. They have performed at numerous esteemed venues and festivals throughout the tri-state area and beyond.
Notable appearances include MONDO.NYC, the American Visionary Art Museum (Baltimore, MD), Trocadero Theatre, Paris Bistro, Fabrika, the Philadelphia Clef Club of Jazz, the Philadelphia United Jazz Festival, the South Street Spring Festival, the Haverford Music Festival, and the Philly Music Festival. A frequent performer at the renowned World Cafe Live Philadelphia, Perpetual Motion completed a yearlong residency there. The band also released their long-awaited debut album, EKLIPSE.
