Reckless Steamy Days, Again with Goldenseal

Featuring The Band Goldenseal

Saturday October 17th the Jersey Shore Jazz & Blues Foundation held its third Reckless Steamy Days event at our outdoor venue, the beautiful backyard of Doris Lazur and Dennis Eschbach. It was a spectacular sunny day made even more special with the music of board member Joe Hughes and his band Goldenseal. The addition of the Golden Horns, Lee Sanderson on sax, and Dennis Eschbach on Trombone were joined on several numbers by harp player extraordinaire, Billy Harth. The rhythm section of Pat Martucci on drums and Jesse Kessler on bass were outstanding while guitarist Art Hoffer showcased his versatility on a number of different styles. After listening to their two sets, it was hard to believe they hadn’t played in eight months! We thank them all for donating their time to help raise funds for the Foundation and we especially thank Joe’s law firm, Zager Fuchs, PC for their generous donation to help sponsor the Reckless Steamy series.

Our socially distanced audience enjoyed themselves. Our Halloween themed basket which was crafted by Juel Kern and donated by her and Jim Murphy was won by Jill Strker, the sister of one of our long time member’s bands, Matt O’Ree.

This is normally the end of our season but since this year has been anything but normal, don’t be surprised if you see another date in early November. Please help to support us so that we can continue to provide live music in whatever way possible during and after this Pandemic.
