Event to benefit the Jersey Shore Jazz & Blues Foundation and its education program
(Asbury Park, NJ) The Jersey Shore Jazz & Blues Foundation (JSJBF) is proud to present the first annual Jazzbury Park Festival® on October 17, 2004 at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ (913 Ocean Avenue). The event will run from 3:00pm-8:00pm and feature Red Bank’s own Chelsea Palermo, the 2004 Tal Farlow Scholarship winner and freshman at Brookdale Community College.
Chelsea Palermo, a recent graduate of Red Bank Regional High School’s Visual Performing Arts Academy, has been singing since she was three years old. She was a finalist in the New York audition for American Idol and a winner of the WJLK radio station’s vocal contest. She has also performed throughout New Jersey with the Jazz for Teens program, as well as at the Litchfield Jazz Festival (Connecticut), with the New Orleans Jazz Band (Rhode Island), and at the Russian Tea Room in New York City.
The Festival will also feature guitar legend Vinnie Carrao, Nu-Horizon, Palmer Jenkins Quartet, Swing Sabroso, and Jerry Topinka along with several of his outstanding young students from the Freehold Music Center.
All proceeds will benefit the Jersey Shore Jazz & Blues Foundation, a nonprofit corporation that also produces the Red Bank Jazz & Blues Festival (the largest free music festival on the east coast).
Suggested donations: adults $20 (at the door) or $15 (online, in advance); teens, seniors, & students with ID $10; and kids 12 & under free.
