Colt’s Neck Inn February Jam

After an unfortunate two-month hiatus, the blues jam at the Colts Neck Inn was back in full force this month. 41 musicians, along with approximately the same number of blues fans and aficionados, packed the bar area for a night of some serious blues!

Many local blues stalwarts, along with some fresh faces, took the stage for over three hours of music. One hot set after another featuring guitar, harp, keys, sax and trumpet—along with solid rhythm sections—kept the night jumping, and the dancers moving, all night long.

We welcomed a new up-and-coming blues guitarist, Sebastian Nigro, who delighted us all as his fingers danced across the strings of his Les Paul gold top with fierce energy. Sebastian’s band joined the Foundation with fervor and we look forward to seeing them compete at the next IBC event. We also welcomed newcomer, Brynn Mosello (along with her father Joe on trumpet) who wowed us all with a rendition of Me and Bobby McGee.

Please join us in March (date to be announced soon) for the next blues jam which will feature the many talented female vocalists in our community when the “Ladies Sing the Blues.” Until then, enjoy these great pictures from Michelle Frasche that really captured the energy of a great night!
