The JSJBF Guitar Raffle Drawing was LIVE and on Facebook LIVE for the Gretsch Crestline guitar. We also announced our Volunteer of the Year.
The annual Guitar Raffle Drawing held on December 6th.
Raffle Winner
Under normal circumstances, we would have been drawing the winning guitar raffle ticket at McCloone’s Supper Club, but in the year 2020 nothing is normal!
In order to comply with State mandated COVID protocol, the drawing was held at the site of our most recent Reckless Steamy Days shows, the backyard of Doris Lazur and Dennis Eschbach’s home and streamed live to Facebook.
After a brief introduction, President Tom Baldino asked Foundation member Jon Kalfus, who donated the Acoustic amp which he customized as part of the raffle prize, to pick the winning ticket.
Longtime member Mike Kahrer of Wall Township was the winner of the amp and the beautiful Gretsch Crestline guitar with hardshell case.

Volunteer of the Year Award
Jon Kalfus
After the drawing, board member Jim Murphy, a previous winner of the Volunteer of the Year award, announced this year’s winner.
In a move that had him literally speechless, Jon Kalfus was presented the 2020 Volunteer of the Year plaque. Jon has been creating and donating amps for several years as well as helping with ticket sales.
The proceeds of the raffle were one of the few fundraisers we had this year due to the pandemic.
In addition to our hosts and those mentioned above, webmaster Kate Rafferty and board members Emil Katterman and Joseph Vincent Riggio who handled the live feed were in attendance.
The 2021 Guitar Raffle
Next year when we announce the guitar and amp to be raffled we will take raffles throughout the year online and at various events like the one pictured below.
