2013 People's Choice Award!

Jersey Shore Jazz and Blues Festival has been named Favorite Music Festival in the 6th Annual JerseyArts.com People's Choice Awards

Jersey Shore, NJ (March 20, 2014) – The ballots were cast and the votes are now tallied, naming Jersey Shore Jazz and Blues Festival as New Jersey's "Favorite Music Festival" in the Sixth Annual JerseyArts.com People's Choice Awards. The annual Awards honor the work of New Jersey's vital, vibrant and diverse arts community.

Jersey Shore Jazz and Blues Festival was one of the eight arts districts/71 organizations nominated for this year's Awards—the largest number of nominees the Awards has received since its creation in 2008. Nominees for the People's Choice Awards were chosen by their peers through the Jersey Arts Marketers network, which is made up of hundreds of nonprofit arts groups across the state.

"The People's Choice Awards pays tribute to our state's incomparable cultural community and the passion of its supporters," said Jim Atkinson, director of programs and services at the ArtPride New Jersey Foundation, the statewide arts service organization that coordinates the annual awards. "All nominees should be very proud of the impact they have on not only their communities, but on their peers."

Public voting in the Sixth Annual JerseyArts.com People's Choice Awards began December 11, 2013 and ran through January 22, 2014, during which time nearly 12,000 ballots were cast across 14 categories -- setting a new record. Winners will be honored at the New Jersey Conference on Tourism, to be held March 19-20, 2014 at the Golden Nugget in Atlantic City.

For a full list of nominees and categories, please visit JerseyArts.com/peopleschoice.

JerseyArts.com is the official website of Discover Jersey Arts, a cosponsored project of the ArtPride New Jersey Foundation and New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State dedicated to increasing the awareness of and participation in the arts in New Jersey. The site features a comprehensive cultural event calendar and arts directory; feature stories and podcasts; details on Jersey Arts Membership, including discounts and exclusive member events; an online gallery of New Jersey artists; and other content about the state's cultural community.
