JSJBF 25th Anniversary Celebration

A note from Doris about the 25th anniversary

First.... Thank You to Chris and Maxine for spearheading the excellent event that was Yesterday! Even though it was a long time in coming!!  ... Neither Super Storm/Hurricane nor The Blizzard could delay it indefinably!      As Chris stated in an earlier email.... it was a very well received event by all who were there.     JSJBF walked away with two beautifully framed Proclamations from the Monmouth County Board of Freeholders and also from the State Senate and Assembly.... both honoring what JSJBF has done over 25 years  in Keeping the Music Alive at the Jersey Shore.  Thank you Freeholder Lillian Burrie and Assemblywoman Caroline Casagrande...and Local council woman Sharon Lee.

We were also honored by the NJ Bar Association and Gene Iadanza with a gift of $1500 as a result of donations at Gene's Retirement from Judgeship.... thank you Gene for thinking of us!   Looking forward to you continued participation with the Foundation!

The spirit was high yesterday and we had so much participation from so many. Special kudos also go out to Jules Kern , Jim Murphy and Chris for putting together those excellent baskets. By the piles of food I saw on many plates passing our check-in booth (thanks Tom)..... I am guessing the Dauphine Grille puts out  very good food! By the time I got around to taking a plate....the selection was limited!  ((But they came out with more later!)

The Musicians.... did a fine job all day.... and we all appreciate that!  Thank you  Maxine and the Snow Project, Gary , Chuck , Stringbean and the Willie Michelle band.     I saw a photo of Rob Papparozi also playing his harmonica.... not sure how I missed that!   Sure am glad I caught Mel Hood singing with Pat Karwan!

I personally spoke to may many people ..... current and New Friends.   Looks like we made some excellent connections with Asbury Park Heritage Foundation..... More will be happening with that later.

Lou Acevedo.... as always... did a wonderful job with his part in mccing the program.... a guy who's heart has always been with the music and the foundation. Thanks Lou.

Sarah Prichard posted some great photos on FB.... so check them out.... also a video there on the Jersey Shore Jazz & Blues group site of Mel Hood receiving his award and singing  with Pat Karwan.

You can see Sarah's photos of the event here
