One more very full nights of music in October as the JSJBF conducts our finals to select the blues band that will represent us at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis. The judges have selected the participating bands, each of whom will play a 30 minute set.
Come on out to Paul's and listen to the best JSJBF Blues has to offer!
Well, the second night of the competition is in the books. Another good crowd and a lot of great blues from the bands that competed tonight. Congratulations to the two bands from tonight's semi-final that moved on to the finals: The Michael Packer Blues Band and the Steve Cal Band. Our third finalist, with the next highest score from week 1 and 2 is the Running Dog Band. And thanks to all the other bands that competed that didn't move on to the finals. You provided the judges with some tough decisions and the audience with two evenings of solid down-home blues. Thanks to those Board members and Foundation members who came out to help tonight:Tom and Joanne Baldino, John Rathman and Amber Eble, Jim and Michael Murphy, Joe Weisbrod, Nicky Coppola and Mark LaRochelle. And a big thanks to our judges - Pat Arochas, Jon Barone, and Janet Goodwin Musso, and to our MC Eddy Cooper. Come on out next week to see the finals!
There was Solo/Duo competition this year.
There will be a a 10 min break between band acts. Timings are strictly enforced!
Note to the Bands!
Band members should try and be at Paul's at least an hour before their scheduled set.
